Bow Hunt 10/15-10/18, not too successful

Weasels Larry, Charlie and Sammy headed north for a little pre-rut hunting. End result was only one deer seen from our stands and that was a doe. My trail camera had 150 pictures on it but only three were bucks and they were small ones. The good news was that the cabin remained free of mice, one month after starting my experiment with peppermint oil. I had 15 traps out and nary a rodent. Usually I would have 2 or 3 with only 6 traps set. Was able to re-enforce the floor in my rifle stand and stabilize it a bit for the upcoming season. Had a great time at the Creek, even had my name drawn as Cheapskate of the week. Marlin, Gully, Dan, Walt and Elaine, plus had a short chat with Roxie. All in all a good trip despite the poor deer showing. I'm sure they are just waiting for the rut hunt to show up.
