2017 Turkey Season

Not much to report this year for turkey season. Things got off to a bad start when I was assigned the 2nd period for hunting. I have never been assigned this period and did not want it as it conflicts with the Quad County Turkey Banquet in Melrose Wi. For years Jan and I have going up to our friends Gene and Mary Bue's for a few days and I already had my ticket bought and plans had been made. Last year I won two guns and a radio at the banquet so I didn't want to miss it. This was the first time in about 25 years that I haven't hunted Jessop's Ridge to start the season. I already had plans to go to Camp Weasel the following week and to hunt a farm about 5 miles North of Edgerton the week after that. To make a long story short, I got rained out at Camp Weasel and drew a blank North of town. I have already been to the DNR Office and made sure I do not get period 2. Hopefully this will allow me to return to Jessop's Ridge next Spring.
