Weasel Gregg and Weasel dog Remy headed North Friday morning, and arrived at camp shortly after Weasels Larry and Gene departed. We passed them heading South shortly before I hit Rice Lake. As Lar mentioned, we had some good grouse action, and Remy was having a ball minus a few tangles in the barb wire fences that remain in the woods. As for bowhunting, well it was rather slow. Friday I saw 3 deer right at dusk. Saturday I saw 1 deer, and it was in the clearing by the cabin. Otherwise not much happening. I saw 15 on the drive back from the Creek on Saturday night, but not much activity during the day yet in our woods. Next trip in a few weeks. Hope to get a few loads of wood cut, teach the elder Weasel how to properly operate the new antenna he installed( currently has double the channels he had scanned in), and hopefully shoot a few deer. All in all it was an excellent weekend. Had a nice visit with Oscar, and some of the usuals at the Creek.
