Daffy and I open camp

Thought I wrote this trip up yesterday, but it hasn't shown up so I will try again. My new Weasel dog Daffy and I headed to camp May 18th to open things up and do a little mowing. For those of you who haven't heard about Daffy, I have a new pointing Lab pup from Zig Zag pointing Lab Kennel in Weyauwega WI. She is 10 weeks old and turning out to be a dandy. It was very cold and damp at the cabin and I had to have a fire the entire time we were there. We found no mice in the traps which was very encouraging. My peppermint scent is working. After putting a new battery in the 4-wheeler I pulled two dead Elms that had blown down off the lawn so I could mow. The Cub Cadet started right away, so I used it while charging the Craftsman. After finishing the mowing the Craftsman kicked right in, so both tractors are ready next trip up when we will have to mow the field. I worked on the compost toilet and got it ready for the season. It sure was a welcome addition to camp. Took Daffy over to meet Sharon Pearson, but that was the only visiting I did. Stopped at Dannys but he wasn't home. Till next time .
