Rut Hunt 2012 11/1/2012 to 11/4/2012

This years rut hunt was full of excitement, as we seemed to hit it about right, maybe a couple of days early, but the bucks were moving. Weasels Larry, Gregg, Ryan, Charlie, and Tom all arrived in camp Thursday night in anticipation of what would be a fun weekend chasing deer. In all, I would estimate around 20 different bucks were seen cruising the woods, with only 2 does confirmed being chased. Four of us had shots, some more than one, at nice bucks, but none met their demise. This leaves a good population of nice bucks for the up coming gun hunt, which leaves me hoping to get a crack at the heavy massed 8 point that I saw on Saturday. Most likely the lucky neighbor to the South will harvest him this week bow hunting.
