Second Turkey Hunt

Well my second turkey hunt during the 4th period didn't go as well as the first hunt, but I still had a good time. I spent 8 hours in the blind on Wed. and 4 more on Thurs. without seeing a gobbler. My neighbor Mark Wanless went along to experience a successful hunt but I didn't give him much of an experience. We did have a couple of hens befriend us both days, and it was fun to watch them. We had them within 15 to 20 yards of the blind at times. Only heard one gobble and that was Thurs. morning during a thunder storm. As always it was great to spend a couple days at the Jessop farm and we had plenty of good laughs and good food, but the turkeys just didn't want to co-operate. Maybe next time.As I seem to be saying more and more frequently as I get older, its not about the kill its about the hunt. Ya, just keep telling yourself that Larry.
