So you want to be a Weasel eh? That was the question posed to Weasels in Training Brennan, Kaitlyn, Ashlyn, and Lauren this past weekend as we held our second Weasels and kits weekend. We all descended on camp Friday evening, and were greeted by our resident grouse, who drummed most of the weekend for us. We flushed 8 walking the various trails over the weekend. Saturday morning found our little trainees up early and eager to begin. After a quick breakfast, it was off to the woods for a walk in the woods to check on deer sign. We'll our walk turned more in the a romp in the mud after all the recent rain. We walked all the way down to the middle logging road, and saw several trails that were being used. After a quick lunch, and a little rest, it was off to Clam Falls for a little fishing. We ended up catching around 25 to 30 nice blue gills. We ended the afternoon with short ATV ride for all, which seemed to be a big hit. The day's festivities ended with a nice chicken dinner, and of course smores. We were greeted Sunday morning by 3 does feeding in the clearing. packing and cleaning while the kids played outside. Amazing how much damage one of them little buggers can do to our nice clean cabin (lol).

The trip was considered a success by all, and everyone returned with all the fingers and toes.

Next trip is back to business, as we still have wood to cut, and stands to move.
