Weasels Larry, Gregg, Ryan, Joel and Carson headed North to assist Carson in getting his first deer. The adults planned on doing a little bow hunting but the rut hunt is our main thrust for archery season. I'm happy to report Carson got the job done Sat afternoon. He shot a nice buck. It had one antler broken off, but it appears it would have been a 6 pointer with its full rack. The whole gang went up to the Creek to let Carson spread the word. Unfortunately there wasn't a large crowd at the Creek, but he did get plenty of attention. Sun morning was spent butchering the deer and preparing to come home. Joel and Ryan did a superior job of cleaning the cabin while Gregg's and I worked on the deer. We'll probably have to start taking our shoes off to enter the cabin. We had time to get down to our neighbor Danny for a short visit and Gregg stopped at Denver's on the way home, but we were pretty pressed for time as it was a short trip. As usual the food and beverages were excellent and the Fall colors were beautiful. Next up is the rut hunt which is always great. Until then, life is great, even better if you're a weasel.
