The annual indoor ice fishing contest at Indian Creek was held Sat. Feb. 11. In attendance for the event were Weasels Larry, Gregg, Tom and Charlie. Despite the fact the fish were biting at a fast and furious pace, we were unable to net any large enough to claim a prize. The crowd was down a bit this year, but enthusiasm remained high. We actually arrived in camp Friday night and had dinner at the creek. This gave us a chance to visit with our friends and practice wetting a line for Sat. As usual our meals were delicious. Gregg had corned a couple of venison roasts, I had picked up our venison brats from Louies , and also threw in a So. Dakota pheasant which Charlie and I had after the boys headed home on Sunday. Tom brought a nice supply of Jimmy Dean Breakfast sandwiches which really work out slick in the morning. The weather was a bit cold, dropping down to -8 on Sat. morning but the wood stove did a yeoman's job of keeping the cabin comfortable. All in all it was a great trip, we saw the Pearsons, Gully, Jim Nelson, Marlin, Brooke, Walt and Elaine and everyone who's anyone at the Creek. Was really great to get up there for a few days. Since the snow was so low, I brought the 4-wheeler back for turkey hunting just in case it should get nasty around the end of March.
