First Bow Hunt of the season

Weasels Larry and Gregg headed to Camp for our first bow hunt last Friday. We hunted Fri night, Sat morning and night and Sun morning. While we came up empty handed, there were some encouraging signs. Gregg actually missed a little buck Friday night, and saw several does every time out. I wasn't nearly as lucky, but did manage to see a couple of does. This was the first time on my new stand and there was lots of foliage. I'm expecting to do better next trip. We had excellent weather and had a very relaxing and enjoyable hunt. Gregg filled a few suspected mouse holes with foam and I readied the compost toilet for the upcoming hunts. Only 1 mouse in our traps. Daffy hurt her leg Friday afternoon and we are waiting to see how that comes out. Sure hope it doesn't require surgery. Pheasant hunting isn't looking too good right now. Marlin Klatts son in law Earl stopped by and we had a real nice visit. This was the first time we had seen him since Marlin's funeral. I stopped and had a visit with our neighbor Danny and his wife on the way out Sunday. Great neighbors and friends. Thats about it til the rut hunt in early Nov. Until then, life is good, even better if you are a weasel.
