Weasels Larry, Gregg Carson and the Daffer headed north to start preparations for the upcoming hunting season. Gregg concentrate on firewood and did a yeoman job of putting enough on the ground for the year. I did some mowing. In addition to the lawn, I mowed the clearing. This will be the final cut for the field. Gregg also worked on trail cameras while I put up 3 new shelves. Carson brought his new shotgun and got an introduction to clay pigeons. He worked on his archery skills as well. I had a nice visit with Danny and his wife on Friday. Danny's wife told me that an old friend Jim Gresche had passed away. They owned the land to the east of us til Danny's sons bought it. We had fish at the Creek Friday night and venison brats and steak with Gregg's famous potatoes on Saturday. We went to the meat raffle at the Creek Saturday afternoon. Carson won some ground beef and I won a box of vegetables. We saw most of our friends at the Creek
The Roots, Denver, Peale and Buster to name a few. All in all a great trip, and lots of fun. Can't wait for bow season. Lots of nice bucks around. Until then, life is good, even better if you're a weasel.
